it is quite interesting to observe mirrors. or people who have them. or reasons why people have them.
some keep mirrors everywhere because they think that will make their rooms larger. some have mirrors because it is traditional. some like their reflections. some ward off evil. there are plenty of reasons for the frames with thin silver layer behind glass in places where people live.
mirrors are supposed to tell the truth. or at least they are supposed not to lie. but when one watches them for a while, it is impossible to miss that they tell a very particular type of truth, or avoid very specific lies.
what people see in the mirror, what it reveals best of all, is defects. or what people think are defects, because the infostream has had them brainwashed.
mirrors also create illusions. of movement. of presence. you name it. and the corrupted and wounded mind readily believes them.
what we are left then, in the face of the mirrors, is our ability to think straight. and see the mirrors for what they are – a thin layer of silver covered in glass, framed in vanity. and act accordingly.
