not out of tune

there is a strong undercurrent in creation stories. it insists that God created the world by singing.

and all that is, visible and invisible, was contained in that singing.

(of course, the best ever description of that was made by the old Professor Tolkien in his Silmarillion)

and even now, incomplete and dissonant as we are, we are not outside that song.

for what is dissonance but an attempt to look for an unknown harmony? or maybe — what is dissonance but an arrogant denial of the well-known harmony of our predecessors?

we are no there yet. we do not hear the great symphony as it should be played.

but we are not out of tune.
